Hank Janczyk, whose legendary Gettysburg career has spanned 34 years, will retire at the conclusion of the 2021 season, the school announced Wednesday. It s been very meaningful to spend a lot of my life coaching men s lacrosse at Gettysburg College, stated Janczyk. It has been an honor to coach and work with all of the many young men that have come into my life. I thank you for your patience with me; even with all of my faults, you managed to grow into some of the finest people I ve ever known. It s been a privilege to work with so many great colleagues, some have even become my best friends for life.

Especially now that the Major League Baseball pitcher, with family in the Cornwall and St. Andrews West area, plays for a team in the Big Apple.

Taillon, who’s battled seemingly never-ending serious injuries while with the Pittsburgh Pirates – and who had treatment four years ago for testicular cancer – was signed by the New York Yankees in the off-season, and ESPN earlier this week reported that sources with the team say he’s “throwing with exceptional control” and appears to be ready for training camp that’s just around the corner.
