California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Largest State Criminal Justice Agency in the United States, Implements eSOPH Background Investigation System News provided by Share this article Share this article SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/  Today, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) transitioned to eSOPH, the industry-leading background investigation software system by Miller Mendel. eSOPH is specifically designed for law enforcement background investigations. The CDCR evaluated at least three other software systems before ultimately selecting eSOPH. By implementing eSOPH, CDCR will reduce their background investigation time by approximately 50% and gain access to tools and other cost-saving efficiencies. The CDCR intends to process approximately 7,000 background investigations within the first 12-months. City Hall: Barrett Picks Makda Fessahaye for Human Resources Director

Makda Fessahaye, 30, to serve as Director of Employee Relations for the city, in an announcement made Tuesday afternoon. The director serves as the chief human resources officer for the city, overseeing the city’s civil service system and “guiding the city’s employee onboarding, classification, compensation, training, safety and grievance resolution efforts,” a press release noted. Her appointment is subject to Common Council approval. Fessahaye, an attorney, currently works for the State of Wisconsin as the administrator of the Division of Adult Institutions at the Department of Corrections. The position is appointed by Governor Tony Evers. She has worked for the state for six years. Fessahaye previously worked for Milwaukee Public Schools as a law clerk while attending law school.
