Members of the Illinois National guard joined local Law Enforcement in chicago to assist with street closures. We implemented stringent parameters on their mission and use of force including no interference with peaceful protestors expressing their First Amendment rights. Since that deployment, we have received additional reports of escalating situations and for assistance from communities around the state. We have now called up an additional 250 members of the Illinois National guard to be ready to assist other cities across the state that have faced a surge of destructive action, notably looting over the last 24 hours. Again, our role is to support the response led by local Law Enforcement and municipalities. We are working with local leaders and Law Enforcement to meet their for assistance to the greatest extent possible. The community had for the c. O. F. Raised 30,000 for playground equipment. And then in addition at this time was able to raise an additional 150,000 for playground equipment through the Public Health foundation. So as i mentioned before at Capital Committee, the grant award that was a federal grant was actually retained detained in washington awaiting some signatures for them to give us the award money. So we couldnt start the project. At the time, i started to go to all the different communities around there to let them know what we were doing with the project because some time had passed, especially since 94124 had Extensive Community outreach at the time and there was a lot of support for the project during that time. When i went out, the Community Requested to be able to have an area where they can have Community Events on a lawn, such as picnic tables, bouncy houses, barbecues, things like that. Because we had most of the area dedicated to the field, it was hard to have it along k

Because we know that having Affordable Housing isnt just about new construction, it is about making sure that we preserve existing Affordable Housing, whether its property that we built under the old redevelopment agency, that are in disrepair, or its buildings like this where we are able to acquire it through our small sight Acquisition Program so that we can keep it permanently affordable. Those are the things that are necessary to make sure that San Francisco is a more affordable place for all san franciscans of all income levels. We have work to do, folks. Is this working . What a Beautiful Day in San Francisco. You know, if you go to city hall, it is so packed. Everybody is celebrating 88. Were here and going to be celebrating this new project. I am the director of public works here at the city of San Francisco. I want to thank you all for coming out our chief and mayor for coming to celebrate this milestone. This facility will be a facility that will serve our First Responders and we are very excited about it. Just last week around the corner we celebrated the new deployment facility and that is a project that will be completed in 2021. That project also is going really well. Then today we are celebrating another Capital Infrastructure project here in the bayview. This job is not only about serving our First Responders, but will also give a lot of people from the community jobs.
