Black Friday might have its origins in the United States, but it has become a massive calendar event in South Africa, showing no signs of slowing down in 2022.
SUPPORTING LOCAL ARTISTS
This forms part of the airlines’ efforts to support South African artists who has been hard-hit by the extended national lockdown restricting gatherings and events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re on a mission to #upLIFTsa and the many industries impacted by the pandemic. We started at home with aviation and travel. Then, we decided to take on another space close to our hearts – the Arts,” the airline said in an Instagram.
SA artists perform on Lift flights
Another first for local airlines, Lift has kick-started live acoustic performances on selected flights.
Last week, singer-songwriter Divine Mahara performed live on one of Lift’s flights. All passengers on the flight were provided with wireless headphones so they could enjoy the performance while kicking back on their flight.
