The Miz on Meeting Maryse for the First Time, What Vince McMahon Told Him When He Forgot His Lines

– WWE 24: The Miz is now available to stream on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else. WWE released a new clip from the documentary, where The Miz recalls meeting his wife, Maryse, for the first time as part of the 2006 WWE Diva Search. He also shared a story on hosting a segment for the Diva Search on TV and forgetting his lines and getting advice on “bullet points” by Vince McMahon. You can view that clip and some highlights below. The Miz on seeing Maryse for the first time: “I’ll never forget the first time she walked into the room, just stunning, drop dead gorgeous, but couldn’t speak any English whatsoever.”

WWE When Layla El made the difficult decision to retire from the ring in 2015, she meant it. The constant travel and physical toll had become too much. The Diva Search winner turned women’s champion transitioned to life after WWE and didn’t really look back. It wasn’t until the last year or so where El became more open to doing more appearances to meet fans. “I took a break. I needed a break for myself. I was with WWE for about nine years,” she said. “I was supposed to do these appearances and backed out. I wasn’t sure. I kind of got scared of being in the public eye. I didn’t want attention. I did my first appearance, and it was just fun, lighthearted. I thought, ‘Why not?’ Plus I wanted to see the fans again.

-Welcome to the 2020 and 2021 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony. If I am remembering correctly I have had the honor of doing the live coverage of this event since WrestleMania XXX. This year is obviously different with 2 classes going in and both already being taped. In years past this event would last 4-5 hours and it seems we may be in for a shorter evening as speeches were put on a time limit this year. I have always loved this event and I know some question the legitimacy of the HOF since it is who Vince wants, but I don’t care about that. It’s a fun night where Legends get to tell some stories and soak in the cheers for a final time in some cases. I attended the ceremonies at Mania XXV, XXVI, and XXVII and they were a lot of fun. As mentioned this year is going to be different, but at the end of the day we are honoring men and women who have taken bumps and sacrificed things in their lives for our entertainment. Let’s get to it!
