Diva: JCB Poclain submerged inside Diva Lake due to heavy rains

Thane, June 11: A JCB poclain was stuck inside a lake in Diva following heavy showers. It had gone inside the lake to carry out desilting work. Hydraulic cranes were brought in to remove the poclain.
Sources from the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) said the desilting work of Diva Lake near Diva Railway Station was going on from May 2021. For the desilting work, the water from the lake was removed.
Recently, after completing the day, the driver of the poclain machine parked it in the lake itself. The overnight rain increased the water level in lake and the JCB got submerged in the water, said Shailesh Patil, local corporator of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena from Diva.
