River Giants Headline Huntsville Catfish Tournament
Updated 2:00 AM;
Ever seen a 100-pound-catfish? Not many people have, but fishing guide Mike Mitchell has seen two of them in his boat in recent years from his fishing trips on the Tennessee River in north Alabama, including the 117-pound blue catfish that stands as his personal best.
Like many other expert anglers from around the country Mitchell is a likely competitor for cash in the King Kat Tournament coming to Ditto Landing, on the river on the south side of Huntsville, April 17.
The Tennessee River is known for its big blue cats and flatheads thanks to its fertile waters and high production of baitfish including shad and skipjack.
