Mumbai: Maharashtra s Covid-19 fatalities again shot up above the 900-mark to cross 72,000 while fresh cases also increased although the Mumbai situation remained favourable on Wednesday, health officials said.
Compared with 891 deaths on
Tuesday, the state saw 920, taking the toll to 72,662.
The number of new infections stayed above the 50,000 level again, going up from 51,880 on Tuesday to 57,640 now, as the state tally reached 48,80,542 now. Mumbai Corona Update Today
The Mumbai position was a relief with the infections increasing further but remaining below the 5,000 level, at 3,882, while the tally rose to 665,057. Deaths again rose to 77 now, and the total fatalities in the country s commercial capital shot up to 13,511.

Amaravati: Caught in the grip of the raging second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Andhra Pradesh reported 22,204 new cases out of the 1,16,367 tests conducted in the 24 hours ending 10 am on Wednesday.
The state s highest daily tally of 23,920 cases was reported on Sunday.
The latest update took the state s overall tally to 12,06,232 on Wednesday. Highest Single-day Death Toll
The preceding 24 hours also saw the highest single-day death toll with 85 people succumbing to the pandemic, compared to the previous all-time high of 83 deaths. The state s cumulative death toll now stands at 8,374.

Mumbai: After a day s lull, Covid-19 fatalities against shot up in Maharashtra with the state s toll crossing the 68,000 mark, and no respite in Mumbai deaths, health officials said here on Friday.
Against 771 deaths on Thursday, the state now recorded 828 fatalities, taking up the toll to 68,813.
The number of new infections remained above the 60,000 mark, but went down from 66,159 on Thursday to 62,919 on Friday, taking up the state tally to 46,02,472. Mumbai Covid-19 update
The Mumbai infections remained below the 5,000 level, dropping from 4,174 to 3,888, and the city s tally rose to 684,471.

Mumbai: After three consecutive days of high fatalities, Maharashtra s Covid-19 death toll fell on Saturday even as the state s case tally zoomed past the 42 lakh-mark, with an increase in the number of active cases, health officials said.
A day after reporting
a record 773 deaths, the state s fatalities fell to its second highest peak of 676 on Saturday, taking its overall toll to 63,928, the worst in the country.
Dropping a little from the record high of 68,631 new cases recorded on April 18, the state on Saturday reported a single-day tally of 67,160 fresh infections, taking its overall figures past the 42 lakh-mark to 42,28,836.
