San Bernardino County to consider program for home kitchens
Supervisors vote unanimously for staff to bring back a plan for approval

San Bernardino County will consider participating in a pilot program that will allow residents to cook and sell food out of their homes.
The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday for staff to bring a program back to the supervisors for approval that would allow microenterprise home kitchen operations, or MEKHOs, to operate temporarily to test potential impacts. County staff has three months to complete the task.
Under two state bills that went into effect in 2019, a county, or similar jurisdiction with a health department, can choose whether to opt in to the MEKHO program.
