Generous Rotarians gets tour of GWH's new £18m radiotherapy centre

MEMBERS of Rotary clubs from Swindon and Wiltshire enjoyed a socially-distanced tour around Great Western Hospital’s new radiotherapy centre. The generous clubs played a major part in making the Adver-backed £18m centre a reality as they were the biggest donors to the project by giving more than £300,000. This is the largest ever Rotary Foundation Global Grant to be awarded to a project based in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It will dramatically improve access to radiotherapy and cancer treatment in the south of England. Rotary’s first donation kick-started the Brighter Futures appeal in 2015 and its pledge in December 2018 closed the £2.9 million appeal and ensured radiotherapy treatment was coming to Swindon at long last.
