Delhi s border points at Tikri and Singhu remained under heavy police deployment on Friday in the aftermath of the violence that broke out during a tractor parade by farmers in the national capital on Republic Day, officials said.
Personnel of the Delhi Police, along with those of the paramilitary forces, have been deployed at the borders.

Border points of Delhi Tikri and Singhu on Friday remained stuck under heavy police deployment in the view of the recent violence that broke out on Republic Day celebrations during a farmers tractor parade in the national capital, officials said.

The situation at the Ghazipur border eased out after midnight as the security forces were withdrawn from there. While the reason behind the withdrawal of security forces was not announced, security officials said they had been asked to go back as they were on duty since previous morning. All senior police officials left the spot around 1.30 a.m.
Electricity supply at the protest site, which had been cut, was also restored after midnight.
The situation was tense at the Ghazipur border after the tractor rally organised by the farmers unions on Republic Day turned violent in the national capital.
GHAZIABAD: Hundreds of Bharatiya Kisan Union members stayed put on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway early on Friday, notwithstanding the Ghaziabad administration s ultimatum to vacate the UP Gate protest site.
A confrontation was building up at the UP Gate in Ghazipur even as frequent power cuts were witnessed in the evening at the protest site, where BKU members, led by Rakesh Tikait, are staying put since November 28.
In a post-midnight review of situation, Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani visited the protest site even as hundreds of security personnel in anti-riot gears were deployed since Thursday.
