Apr 21, 2021 MUNCY In exchange for sexual favors, a corrections officer who is a supervisor at the state Corrections Institution at Muncy passed notes among several female inmates and also provided prescribed drugs to another, an agent with the state Department of Corrections alleged in court records. Brian Scott, a sergeant at the state prison on Route 405 in Clinton Township, is also alleged to have had inappropirate contact with another inmate in a utility closet at the facility. Between last October and early January, Scott, 50, of Hunlock Creek Township, Luzerne County, allegedly had indecent contact with five inmates who were permitted to have inappropriate contact with the officer’s private parts through his clothing, Agent Amanda Witiak said in a criminal complaint.

pholmes@sungazette.com A brief high-speed pursuit through Loyalsock Township with state police late Thursday night ended when motorist Wykir Richardson lost control of his 2021 Toyota Rav4, which jumped the curb and struck a guardrail at Four Mile Drive and Warran Avenue, according to court records. Richardson, 19, of Penn Hills, Allegheny County, bailed out of the SUV and took off running as did his two passengers, but all three were quickly nabbed, police said. One passenger, not identified in court papers, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to be treated for injuries he suffered in the 11:30 p.m. crash.

Apr 16, 2021 PICTURE ROCKS Two more people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a burglary and subsequent attack on a couple that occurred nearly five years ago in the 300 block of Yeagle Road in Wolf Township. Convicted felon Ronald Shoop Jr., 31, was arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on numerous felony charges in connection with the attack that occurred on July 7, 2016. Police allege Shoop, who is currently serving a state prison term for burglary, played a key role in the assault that left the male victim with several skull fractures and deep lacerations to the head, according to court records filed by state police.

pholmes@sungazette.com Minutes after pulling into the drive-thru at the Dairy Queen Grill and Chill at 606 Hastings St., South Williamsport, about 12:20 p.m. on Dec. 10, motorist Donuae Kellam and her female passenger both fell asleep in the Mercedes-Benz, borough police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they attempted to speak with Kellam, 35. Both women were still asleep with the engine running, police said. When she woke up, Kellam, of 715 Elmira St., told police that she used “narcotic pain pills a few hours” earlier, according to an affidavit. She also admitted to smoking marijuana, police said. “She exhibited numerous signs of drug impairment,” an officer wrote in the court document. A blood test revealed that Kellam had marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl and xanax in her system at the time.
