CLOSE friends of a former town mayor who lost his battle with cancer last year are to hold a walk in his memory to raise much-needed charity funds. Dennis Teasdale was a councillor on Guisborough Town Council and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council for many years and had been mayor of Guisborough in 2013 and 2017, as well as mayor of Redcar and Cleveland Council in 2018. Among many of his achievements, he was a founding member of the Guisborough Town Hall Gateway Project to restore the old Guisborough Town Hall to its former glory. He was also the chairman of the Friends of Guisborough Cemetery and worked closely with both the Guisborough and District Friends of Cancer Research and the Guisborough and East Cleveland Sea Cadets.
