Chief Electoral Officer for Elections New Brunswick Kim Poffenroth says as of Tuesday this week, there were four municipalities with no candidates, “It’s not unusual for people to wait until the last minute. But I do encourage people not to wait until that 2pm deadline on April 9th,  because if you wait and something needs to be corrected, you don’t actually have the opportunity to rectify.” As of Tuesday, names had been submitted in 100 of the province’s 104 municipalities for various council positions.
