A Fort Dodge man will spend a decade in prison after pleading guilty to willful injury for stabbing a man in a downtown apartment in July 2020.
Donathan L. Williams, 42, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Friday by District Court Judge Kurt Stoebe. Earlier in the week, Williams had pleaded guilty to willful injury causing serious injury, a Class C forcible felony, in exchange for two other charges being dismissed.
Williams was arrested on July 2, 2020, after the victim, 39-year-old Lavaris Bosworth, walked into the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, 126 N. 10th St., with wounds on his neck and back. Bosworth was transported to UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.
