A well-furnished CPHS compound and staff quarters with its mechanized borehole and other ancillary facilities has been constructed and commissioned for chiefs and people of Amanfi in the Dormaa East District.
The facility which has already received staff to commence its operations, was constructed within six months by the Vistaway Construction Works with source of funding from the District Common Fund (DCF) and the District Internal Generated Fund (IGF). It would among other services, provide, reproductive health and family planning services, immunization and children welfare services, home education on health and basic consultation, and drug dispensary.
Hon. Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the former Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North, has lauded the Administrator of the District Common Fund, Hon. Naa Torshie for her efficient way of managing the Persons with Disability Fund.
The fund has led to the setup of thousands of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in self-sustaining businesses.
Speaking on the Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, the former MCE cited examples from the Akuapem North Municipality where he utilized his common fund to benefit one Mr. Otu, a person living with disability by setting him up in a sustainable and self-sufficient venture.
Explaining the model, he explained how the Common Fund administrator insisted all support from the fund should be geared towards Entrepreneurial setup, Educational support and Health related issues.

The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NIPDA) has disbursed over GHS123,000 from its share of the District Assembly Common Fund to 54 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).
The Assembly used over GHS 99,000 to procure items for 44 of the beneficiaries while over GHs 24,000 was for the payment of school and medical bills for 10 beneficiaries.
The items include 21 deep freezers, 100 bags of charcoal, 200 bags of cement, two knitting machines, 30 packs of baby diapers, one cassava grinding machine, one pepper grinding machine, laptop, and two commode wheelchairs among others.
Mr Jonathan Teye Doku, Ningo-Prampram District Chief Executive, presenting the items, said the disbursement was the fourth in the year, explaining that because PWDs in the area were many, they were being supported in batches.
