Civil rights activist Alice Green and an Albany County public defender launched the Just Mercy for Jordan Young campaign for man shot during police encounter.
Recently Albany District Attorney David Soares asked Governor Andrew Cuomo to reinstate his executive order to suspend Grand jury trials due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sadly, one of his aides succumbed to complications of this deadly virus.
Just last week District Attorney David Soares announced that five members of his office staff tested positive for COVID-19. A few days later one of her aides succumbed to the virus. His aide, 59-year old Jeanenne Holt, who was working from home, passed away due to complications of the COVID-19 virus.
According to Times Union, District Attorney Soares expressed his grief over the passing of his aide. He said, “Offices are comprised of bricks, walls and furniture. It’s the people who provide the warmth and the light. Our office is a lot less bright and a lot less warm with the passing of our Jeanenne. We are simply devastated. We will always be grateful to the whole family for allowing us to experience her life”.
