BARNSTABLE The August trial date in Barnstable Superior Court for the man accused of killing Yarmouth police Sgt. Sean Gannon is holding steady for now, though the venue and timing of the trial could change depending on how well the pandemic is under control this summer.
“I think we ought to look to keep this case on track for an August trial, subject to reconsideration if the situation alters,” Judge Jeffrey Locke said Monday in a remote pretrial hearing for Thomas Latanowich.
Latanowich is facing a murder charge for shooting and killing Gannon in 2018. The officer was part of a team serving an arrest warrant for Latanowich in Marstons Mills.
