The strangest year in running any of us has ever seen is almost over. And unlike a few other noted publications, we waited until the very end of 2020 to hand out our year-end awards (since this was one of the busiest Decembers ever from a running perspective).
In this year of woe, there were highs (the Olympic Marathon Trials, Monaco Diamond League, London Marathon) and lows (pretty much everything else that happened in 2020). Yet despite the cancellation/postponement of several major events, there was still plenty of drama on and off the track in 2020. Sixteen world records. American records by the likes of
