With the launch of a teaching model called Distance Learning Plus less than two weeks away, educators at Malibu’s elementary schools are prepping campuses for the return of TK-5 students.
Under a deal reached between the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and its teachers union, DL+ as it’s known, includes distance learning three days per week and in-person activities the others. Officials say the agreement “seeks to balance having on-site/in-person academic, physical and social-emotional learning experiences, while not disadvantaging students who remain at home.”

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Rochester Public Schools has released its latest phase in the return to learn plan.
RPS said Thursday that elementary students will return to the hybrid learning model with a rolling start.
Secondary students will remain in Distance Learning Plus Supports.
The school board will reassess the data on Tuesday, Feb. 2 to see if any changes will be made.
