IGP opens Khidmat Centre at Lower Dir National April 11, 2021 PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Sanaullah Abbasi Saturday visited district Dir Lower and appreciated performance of Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs) to resolve disputes in a amicable way. Upon arrival, he was received by Regional Police Officer Malakand, Abdul Ghafoor Afridi, District Police Officer, Liaqat Ali Malik and other high ranking police officials. A smart contingent of police presented guard of honor. The IGP laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha. He also also planted a tree in the police lines. The IGP visited Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) and met with its members.

Digitalisation of police bridges gap between public and police: IGP

Peshawar January 28, 2021 PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi on Wednesday said that digitalization had been introduced in all police units which had effectively bridged the gap between public and police. He was talking to a delegation of digital influencers including YouTubers, Bloggers and other social medial channel professionals here at Central Police Office (CPO). The IGP briefed the delegation about the steps taken for implementation of police reforms in the province. He said that CCTV cameras are being installed in all police establishment to effectively monitor the performance of the police and restore the dignity and respect of the public particularly at thana level.

Blood feuds claim hundreds of lives across KP every year Peshawar December 22, 2020 PESHAWAR: The decades-old blood feuds in the rural areas of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are claiming hundreds of lives every year. The groups involved in these feuds are promoting gun culture and terrorising the common people by brandishing arms in public.There have been a number of blood-feuds in Peshawar and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that started years ago over petty issues and claimed scores of lives from both sides thus far. There are also reports that some of these groups, which are heavily armed, are actively involved in crimes, supporting and facilitating criminals, land grabbing and harassing innocent people by intentionally brandishing weapons in public. They are being supported by local influential families and individuals in an effort to use them for their own purposes in case of need.
