Power Rangers isn’t likely to gain much traction until the end of this year at the earliest, although we do know that it’ll be a time traveling adventure that features a trip to the 1990s, and is no doubt being positioned as a much more light-hearted and fun slice of escapism than Dean Israelite’s self-serious 2017 version, which drastically underperformed at the box office.
After losing director Stephen Daldry last fall, Universal Pictures is back in business with a new director for their long-awaited Wicked adaptation, Jon M. Chu.
Daldry had insisted on shooting Wicked in London, with the lack of stage space available and Universal s insistence on moving quicker than he was comfortable with cited as the reasons for him backing out, according to Deadline.
Chu s schedule freed up last month as well, when he backed out of directing Disney Plus Willow pilot.
