Zero Discrimination Day is an annual day celebrated by the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations. The day is to promote equality before the law and behavior in all member states of the United Nations. The day was first observed on 1 March 2014, and it was launched on 27 February of that year with a major event in Beijing by UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe. In February 2017, UNAIDS called on people to stand in the way of achieving ambitions, goals, and dreams and make some noise around zero discrimination to prevent discrimination.  The day is particularly noted by organizations such as UNAIDS that combat discrimination against people living with HIV / AIDS.
