World Wetlands Day was observed at Vellalore lake in Coimbatore. Several events were organised by Kovai Kulangal Pathukapu Amaipu (KKPA), The Nature and Butterfly Society (TNBS), and Coimbatore Nature Society (CNS). An awareness programme on wetlands, birds, and butterflies was held for school and college students. A photography exhibition on birds and butterflies was also part of the programme.
