wheelbarrow. they had a rail system developed two little cars and motorcycle hooked to a third car. they would pile the dirt on those cars as they dug into the tunnel, the air conditioned, lighted tunnel. they would bring the dirt out, bucket by bucket. wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow. they had a power wench to lift the buckets and then to lift out the 2,000 tons or more of dirt. they dug not only a mile long tunnel from that property that they had acquired under the prison wall, but they managed to come up directly in el chapo s cell. not just in his cell, but in the one tiny 2-foot by 2-foot area with a surveillance cameras that were on that cream 24/7 could not see. so they came up into his toilet area. that s why you now see the notorious video of el chapo going into the bathroom and then disappearing.
those people could get arrested and give up the information. most likely the tunnel was being built just for drugs. when you get to the bottom it s it s there is a lot of sandbags here. we have to crawl is amazing. 90 feet deep. lights still work. and the phones are this deep underground. all right. we probably already crossed into the united states. this part of the tunnel. you have to crouch down. looks like this is all really loose dirt. we haven t seen much loose dirt. just kind of assuming that they were in the process of carting some of this dirt out. because it is really the only area so far in the tunnel we have seen that has this kind of loose earth. so, look at this huge pile of it. you get a sense of the amount. sheer volume of earth they had to cart away put into the, either plastic bags put into
they dug from the house on the other side of the prison. they dug from the house into the prison. so as they dug in they would remove the dirt. i saw that happen years ago in the late 80s in another prison attempted escape back then where they dug down and they would pull the dirt out and put it in sugar sacks and then put it in trucks take it out overnight. so none of the dirt was in the prison. they would excavate slowly forward and pull the dirt out so that no one here would see it. the last thing they did was they popped up inside that shower stall. now, think what it took to do that, to go from a mile away and come exactly into his cell into his shower stall, just outside of the view of the surveillance cameras. what did they have to know to do that? what kind of sophisticated help and equipment did they have to do to do this. that s the question as this was a top flight operation. and then it s kind of ironic because this is a guy known for
construction. that leads me to the next issue, the construction is also being looked at to see some of these potential accomplices likely helped guzman tunnel his way out. the main question is how did they snell get all that dirt out. so the main question did he get help from the outside? one of most bizarre twists donald trump reporting to federal authority that a twitter account perhaps associated with el chapo, was making threats towards don t trump. is that at all plausible? reporter: it can t be possible. we know the trump campaign noticed those tweets from an unverified twitter account that may have ties to guzman or may not we are told they quickly
they make tablet cases. they re durable, water repellant. dirt proof, snow proof and shock proof. you can drop them. you can touch the actual screen. you can still use the phone perfectly well with the case on the screen. it s not some big bulky screen. gretchen: it s not heavy either? clayton: no, it s not heavy. you don t have to worry about going to the beach. it will keep the sand and dirt out. gretchen: can i read your e-mails? clayton: i think that s one of our producers phones. gretchen: do you have a pass code on there? you need to. what s the final thing. clayton: i love this. so many people are doing things with their cameras now, iphones and able to put on interchangeable lenses to take wide angle shots, fish eye lens shots. there is a case that s durable that allows you to switch out different lenses so you can get wide angle, fish eye. but also durable. you can take this in the pool with your kids and get them swimming under water. gretchen: i saw somebody o
