MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - A ceremony to hand over humanitarian cargo to counteract COVID-19 was held in Minsk on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
The country office of the World Health Organization in Belarus delivered oxygen masks with a reservoir, devices for high-flow nasal oxygen therapy and COVID-19 rapid tests to the National Medical Response Center. The equipment worth of $850,000 was purchased and delivered as part of the European Union Solidarity for Health initiative. The equipment meets all the WHO requirements.
According to Dirk Schuebel, Head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus, the number of people infected with the coronavirus keeps growing and so does the need for this specialized equipment. He noted that this was not the last delivery of the equipment.
