James was suspended on July 28 after the ministry launched a probe into the alleged irregularities in appointments and recruitment of faculty and compliance to reservation rosters during his tenure.
The Indian health ministry has accepted the resignation of International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Director, K S James, and revoked his suspension. James was suspended in July following allegations of irregularities in appointments and compliance with reservation rosters. The ministry launched an investigation and found irregularities in 11 out of 35 complaints received. The suspension was lifted due to "material changes in circumstances".
