Srinagar: Directorate Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) observed World No Tobacco Day here yesterday in which the participants took pledge for quitting smoking and supporting the anti-tobacco campaign in Kashmir valley.
To commemorate the global celebration, a grand function was organised by State Tobacco Control Unit at Government Dental College where prominent personalities including
Srinagar: Hospitals coming under the administrative control of Directorate Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) will function normally for time being.
In an order issued here, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad said the Out-Patient Department (OPDs) and In-Patient Department (IPDs) will continue to function normally.
Dr Mushtaq said that the decision about the suspension of these facilities will only be taken once

SRINAGAR: In order to facilitate cancer patients, the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Boniyar has started chemotherapy facility which is first ever in the Baramulla district.
Earlier, patients from far-flung areas suffering from chronic illnesses especially Carcinoma had to visit Tertiary Care hospitals in Srinagar for receiving chemotherapy.
However, now they are relieved as the PHC Boniyar has started the facility.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) PHC Boniyar Dr Pervaiz Masood said, “Now we have started chemotherapy treatment at our block hospital Boniyar for patients coming from far-flung areas of the district.”
“This initiative was started with the collaboration of SKIMS and GMC Srinagar to provide better care for people from rural areas and to give further ease of navigation to the patients,” Dr Masood said.
