On August 17, the Wildlife Crime Control Unit of the Forest Department filed a case against Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, the director of “Hawa”, for violating the Wildlife Conservation and Security Act of 2012. Mejbaur Rahman Sumon's first film, “Hawa”, completed one month of its release on Monday. The film is currently running in 48 theatres across the country.
The Wildlife Crime Control Unit went to watch "Hawa" at the Bashundhara City branch of Star Cineplex in Dhaka. After watching the film, the representatives had stated that the Wildlife Conservation and Security Act of 2012 was violated due to the scene featuring a captivated shalik.
