Ticket holders for the April 10 Symphoria livestream concert will hear a reflective musical study by Quinn Mason, a composer in his mid-20s; Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, performed by Elbridge native Sarah Crocker-Vonsattel, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2. Music Director Lawrence Loh will conduct and provide a pre-concert talk 45 minutes prior to the 7:30 p.m. start.

Principal Pops Conductor Sean O’Loughlin and his wife, Dena, will host Symphoria’s annual program of romantic music Feb. 13 from their home in California. They’ll be joined remotely by Jim Beckman, president of the local chapter of the American Wine Society, for a discussion and virtual wine tasting starting at 7 p.m.

Moonlight Skiing and Snowshoeing at Beaver Lake
The ten miles of trails at Beaver Lake Nature Center will remain open late this weekend (until 9 p.m. and if there is adequate snow on the ground) to allow skiers and snowshoers a chance to enjoy them under the stars and moonlight. Organizers ask participants to sign in and out and bring a friend and a flashlight. Social distancing when necessary and masks are required.

Making good on their pledge to fulfill 2020-2021 season commitments, Symphoria managers have found ways to adapt programming to meet pandemic restrictions on travel and gathering. Two upcoming concerts will originate in Inspiration Hall, but portions of the performances will be pre-recorded to honor the stipulated number of musicians who can gather at any one time.
Artistic Director Lawrence Loh will host the Masterworks concert, “Winter Reflections,” Jan. 23. The Vimeo link will open at 6:30 p.m. for a pre-concert conversation with Loh preceding the 7:30 start time.
