The Town of Snowmass Village is gearing up to implement an ordinance that would give locals an advantage in the town’s lottery system for deed-restricted housing.
A development of 80 workforce housing units in Snowmass Village has passed its first hurdle, but is facing hesitancy from some Snowmass Town Council members as it reaches the sketch review stage.
The Town of Snowmass Village operates a lottery system to determine who can purchase the homes in its highly competitive, deed-restricted, workforce housing program. And in the first drawing of 2023, a handful of local business owners were vying for a four-bedroom located behind the town’s recreation center.
Snowmass Village officially has a master plan to meet its goal of adding 185 more units to its workforce housing stock after Snowmass Village Town Council voted to adopt the plan at an Oct. 4 regular meeting.
