Apr 7, 2021 Joint Director Apiculture & Mushrooms during his speech highlighted various farmer friendly schemes being implemented by the Department and asked the participating farmers to reap the benefits of said schemes. He stressed upon the officers to educate the farmers of the Chadura sub division regarding vegetable cultivation as this area is the largest producer and exporter of vegetable. Various officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Mushroom, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other field functionaries of the department besides a large gathering of farmers was also present on the occasion.

Farooq Khan inaugurates training on Honey Bee – indispensable Insect- Its Management for Honey Industry at Srinagar – India Education,Education News India,Education News

Srinagar: The Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare department, Kashmir, today organized a one day training cum sensitization program on “Honey Bee- the indispensable Insect- Its Management for Honey Industry” . Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, inaugurated the training program. Advisor highlighted bee keeping as lucrative rural Agro- Horticulture based activity that fits well in the integrated agriculture system as an allied vocation to increase the income of all farmers . He said that there is a tremendous scope of beekeeping in the UT of J&K due to plethora of flora available here. Advisor stressed upon the officers to motivate youth towards establishment of viable bee keeping units as the sector has good potential to generate income not only in honey production but also the production of by- products like bees wax, propolis, bee venom and royal jelly. He laid stress on the need to organize more of such sensitization programs on apiculture as the sector
