up, went down to the locker room and cavorting with the players while she was swigging whiskey? she said, yeah, i did that, that s a true story. i recognize i m a public figure, i m going to be recognized whether i m wearing a bikini or a potato sack. of course i got drunk at a yankee game. i m a 24-year-old new york italian girl. here s the interesting part. she says she s not sexually promiscuous. okay? and here s why. okay, good. i ll read you a quote. she said i have this thing that if i sleep with someone, they re going to take my creativity from me through my special lady place. now, is that something that could actually happen? wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. did she say my special lady place? no, she used willie? that s kind of like barack obama talking about the dipsy doodle. and the wee-wee. i didn t know creativity could escape that way. i m thinking, is that possible? mika, norah? excuse me, wait
bamboozle you. the okeydoke. the okeydoke. welcome to morning joe. it s tuesday, august the 3rd. we re here in los angeles as john ridley, washington, d.c., political reporter for the washington post, sam stein, and also chief washington correspondent norah o donnell, of course, in new york. but let s start with you. i hear john ridley, a stunning a stunning move from the barack obama playbook. you have to go back to eisenhower to talk about a president actually accusing the opposing party of the dipsy doodle, which, of course the dipsy doodle. i m not exactly sure what that means. it s a distant cousin of the shim sham, and what did he say the okeydokey? which is actually the okeydoke, which is actually the distant cousin of the dipsy doodle and the shimsham. it s throwing around some arcane terminology. that s kind of like when
you re talking about people wee-weeing all over themselves. it s basketball from 1957. he hit the okeydoke. how did he ever get did this guy ever get out? like did he hang out with other guys? i don t know. who says the dipsy doodle? and who says republicans have been wee-weeing all over themselves? you know what? the gut instinct to go with harder language, which he s clearly not going to do. the use of the okeydoke is sort of a round away kind of term. bamboozled is a term that is kind of loaded when you re talking to the community. hey, you ve been bamboozled. peel respond to that. but unfortunately you line all those terms up, all of a sudden it sounds like the book that dr. seuss threw away. there s no doubt about it. we could go to washington, d.c. and talk to our young whippersnapper sam stein, right? or the lovely dame norah o donnell. i mean let s just talk in 1940s talk for awhile. she s a skirt. is that what you would say?
president s backers on capitol hill if he went too far this morning. listen to her response. i don t think is. the president has been attacked mer mer mercilously. i don t think it s a surprise to anybody that he fights fire with fire. no shortage of response from the president s colleagues on the capitol hill. you can see lindsey graham s response. susan collins says this has to stop. there needs to be civility. orrin hatch said he had a problem calling it a dipsy doodle. paul ryan said this morning, i don t see it as an appropriate comment. this idea that it was beneath the dignity of the office,
