Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to attend the G20 summit in New Delhi in September. Other than Bangladesh, India has invited Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, Egypt, and the UAE to attend the summit.
The gift, in the form of 20 Broad Gauge locomotives, marked the successful completion of the promise made to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by the Indian government in 2019.
