Councillors in South Taranaki have agreed to look again at the cost of earthquake-strengthening and refurbishing a small town s long-closed hall and sports complex after residents banded together to demand action. Manaia’s war memorial hall was shut by the South Taranaki District Council (STDC) in 2015 and its sports complex followed in 2018, after both were assessed as earthquake-prone.
