Plowshares, the Ukiah community dining center, marked its 40th anniversary with an open house Friday, and a special message from Sister Jane Kelly, the iconic Catholic nun who led to its founding.
“The Assumption Parish Bazaar was started in 1935 out of a need to create an event to support the financially struggling parish during the Depression years,” said Pat Cahill, who is serving as publicity committee co-chair this year along with Ashley Titus Vevoda.
