The diocese announced the news in a Facebook post Friday, July 30.

It added that all Masses will be done online.
Other dioceses have yet to make an announcement.
The announcement was made on the day the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases said that Metro Manila will be placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting August 6.
Under ECQ, physical religious gatherings are not allowed.
Metro Manila is currently under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.

“The diocese has witnessed the quick and comprehensive response made by the LGUs of Pasig, Pateros, and Taguig in the face of the health crisis, particularly in ensuring the safety of their constituents,” Vergara said over Radio Veritas.
The bishop said, the Church works hand in hand with the government in the implementation of safety health protocols to help curb the spread of the virus.
“Proper coordination and cooperation between the diocese and officials of the LGUs are important in addressing the effects of the pandemic,” Vergara said.
“We will heighten our vigilance as we observe the season of Lent. We call on the faithful to follow the safety measures being implemented in their parishes,” he added.
