BALANGA City, Bataan: Bishop Ruperto Santos will be leaving the Diocese of Balanga after Pope Francis appointed him on April 24 as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Antipolo. He will be officially installed on July 22. The 65-year-old prelate from Bulacan assumed as Bataan bishop on July 8, 2010. He was the former chairman, now vice chairman, of the Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines. He will serve his last Holy Mass in Bataan at the Bahay Puso in Balanga City, which is the Diocesan Home for the aged and abandoned, on Sunday, July 16, 2023. As he prepares to leave for his new assignment, he invites everyone to take a last look at his 12 years in the Bataan diocese.
