Scranton police officers started giving out vouchers for a free meal to some surprised drivers expecting a ticket.
The department kicked off its annual Undercover Secret Santa campaign with 212 vouchers for a free hamburger or cheeseburger from McDonaldâs and 54 vouchers for a free pizza from Fratelliâs Pizza & Pasta House. Interim Police Chief Leonard Namiotka said the campaign, in its fourth year, is an opportunity to bring a little cheer. âIn the holiday spirit of giving, weâd like to give back to the community,â Namiotka said.
