Visakhapatnam/Hyderabad: Four persons, including a months old baby, were killed and 19 others sustained injuries when a mini-bus in which they were travelling plunged into a 100-feet deep gorge in Anantagiri mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Friday evening.
All the victims and the injured belonged to the same extended family and were residents of Shaikpet in Hyderabad. They had hired the bus for a trip to Araku valley in Visakhapatnam district. They left in the bus hired from Dinesh Travels, also based in Shaikpet, on February 10 and were expected back on February 14.

The bus accident in which four persons died and 23 were injured, including two critically, at Damuku in Ananthagiri mandal, on the ghat road from Araku to Visakhapatnam on Friday night, might be due to a number of reasons including brake failure.
According to the primary investigation done by the district police, the bus was heading from Araku valley to Visakhapatnam, carrying 27 passengers, including the driver.

Hyderabad, Feb 13 : Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday expressed deep shock over the road accident in Araku valley in Andhra Pradesh in which four tourists from Hyderabad were killed and many others were injured. The Andhra Pradesh government has reported the toll as eight.
The accident occurred when the tourist bus returning from the valley in Visakhapatnam district fell into a gorge.
The Governor stated that she is deeply shocked and saddened to know about the death of many tourists from Hyderabad in an accident at Araku valley Ghat road. I express my deep condolences to the bereaved family members. Wish early recovery and best possible medical care to the injured, she said.

According to the police, the accident occurred when a tourist bus, belonging to Dinesh Travels, Hyderabad, was taking a steep turn near Anantagiri village on their way to Araku valley hill station. The bus was carrying 30 passengers, all from Hyderabad, the police said.
