New hire: Bastrop school district hires new finance director

The Bastrop school district hired June Crawford to serve as its finance director six months after Theresa Fierro retired in December. Crawford began her new position July 12. “I am excited to join the Bastrop ISD family,” Crawford said in a statement. “I look forward to working with such an outstanding team and getting to know the wonderful people of Bastrop.” Crawford, who has dual degrees in accounting and management from the University of Texas at Arlington, previously worked as the Copperas Cove school district’s chief financial officer. In that position, which she began in 2016, she oversaw and managed the district’s budget, state and federal grants, financial reporting, purchasing, payroll and other duties.
