Chuck Baran, project manager with Mike Coates Construction, was one of 20-plus contractors who walked through the Warren City Hall grounds before bidding on the $1.7 million project closes. City officials want to improve the buildings.
WARREN The final portion of funds earned from the sale of bonds by the city in 2014 is expected to be used for the restoration of the city hall complex this year.
The complex includes the 149-year-old Perkins Mansion city hall building, the city’s information technology building and the law department building, both on the city hall grounds.
The expected $1.7 million project will be paid for with a variety of funding sources, including a $500,000 Save America’s Treasures grant and a $200,000 grant obtained through energy supplier NOPEC that will be used to do upgrades of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
