Norwich-based Dime Bank has filed an application with the Connecticut Department of Banking and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. for approval to open its first community bank in Vernon.
Dime Bank – which currently has 13 Connecticut locations in southeastern Connecticut and the greater Hartford area and one branch in Westerly, Rhode Island – made the announcement Monday morning.
