EM Bureau Dimapur/Wokha, Sep. 26 (EMN): Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Electronics, and Technology, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, on Monday, asked the Zunheboto district administration to develop a skill development plan that maps local aspirations and creates opportunities for jobs and entrepreneurships. “Our emphasis should be making optimum use of local resources and reduce migration to urban centres,” he said. He stated this during his visit to Zunheboto district, the first Union minister to do so in a span of four decades. Scattered rainfall likely in next few days Our Reporter/CorrespondentDimapur/Wokha, Sep.13 (EMN): Dimapur town once again experienced flooding owing to unprecedented rainfall in the last two days. Some areas reported flooding mostly due to clogged drains, poor drainage system and land encroachment. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe, who is also the CEO of District Disaster Management Authority, told Eastern Mirror that due to the unexpected high amount of rainfall, flood-like situation was reported at SM colony, Riverbelt colony, Ragailong Colony, Namgalong Colony and its surrounding areas. The ADC stated that houses were even submerged in water because of blocked drains. The Assam Rifles personnel, she said, evacuated the families affected by the flood.
