The Cost of Slater - PFN Mock on Tax Day By Purple Pain on Apr 15, 2021, 1:25pm CDT +
We can expect surprises in the NFL draft. It would be fortuitous for the Vikings if any of the elite 12 dropped to #14. Those include 5 QBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 CB, 1 OL, and 1 LB. Slater is projected at #13 going to the Chargers, but sometimes strange things happen because GMs decide they have better insight than the consensus. In those instances, Parsons, Slater, Smith/Waddle, or another drop to become available at the Vikings pick. I am a strong proponent of grabbing the BPA in early rounds, of which any of these would be. However, when an offer comes along that is too tempting, do you trade back or take the rock solid pick.

What to expect from QB Trey Lance
March 11, 2021
FARGO, N.D North Dakota State hosts its Pro Day on Friday. 30 NFL teams made up of 26 general managers and four head coaches are expected to be in attendance.
Quarterback Trey Lance headlines the group of those participating as a projected top 20 pick. The dual threat QB is not running the 40 yard dash or any of the agility drills. The former Bison ran for 1100 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2019.
What teams want to evaluate is his passing accuracy. Lance threw for over 2700 yards, 28 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Starting just 17 games in college, experience is the biggest question going in, however, quarterbacks coach Randy Hedberg says Lance stands out in other ways.
The Cowboys should avoid using the 10th overall pick on an offensive tackle, and here’s why
The 2021 NFL Draft class is an anomaly.

As you may know by now, the Cowboys often go into NFL Drafts with a good grasp on the landscape of the draft, and how deep it is as certain positions. At times this can hurt them, when they reach for positions in certain rounds, due to how deep or not-deep however said position is throughout the draft.
Most recently, the Cowboys drafted Trysten Hill in the second round of the draft, passing up on safety and corner, because they liked some of the guys they could get later. Most notable was 2017, where the Cowboys drafted Taco Charlton in the first round, because of how WEAK the 2017 class was at defensive end, and also how DEEP it was at cornerback (grabbed Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis later).
