Mumbai police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against some flat owners and others in connection with the collapse of a building in suburban Kurla that killed 19 persons and injured 15 others, an official said on Wednesday.
A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered earlier in the day against some flat owners and others at Nehru Nagar police station in connection with the Monday midnight incident.
A day after 19 people died in the Kurla building collapse, the Nehru Nagar police named three owners of houses in the building as the accused in the FIR. The trio are currently on the run and the police said more names are expected to be added in the days to come.
An entire wing of the Naik Nagar building in Kurla (east) had come crashing down just a little before midnight on Tuesday, trapping scores of residents underneath.
