Destruction can create beauty in the artworks of Filipino artist Jigger Cruz which will be exhibited during Paradigmal Traps at Tang Contemporary Art from Thursday July 1 to July 25.

Cruz has brought a new collection of paintings and drawings that challenge perception rendered in his signature style, which involves tubes of oil paint squeezed onto canvas, strokes of rough and thick three-dimensional surfaces that meet in a grid of coloured lines, and strips of colour overlap travelling in parallel lines or intertwining as pushed by his impulsive gesture.
