Albertans across the province now have access to the Digital Overdose Response System (DORS), an app that helps prevent a fatal overdose when using opioids and other substances alone at home.
Construction is starting on the new 50-bed recovery community in Lethbridge that will provide long-term holistic residential treatment for Albertans with addiction and mental health challenges.
Alberta’s government is the first in Canada to fully cover the cost of the injectable opioid treatment drug Sublocade. The treatment lasts in a person’s system for 30 days, providing stabilization, reduced craving and significantly enhanced protection against overdose.
