The identity of a person is established through face authentication and a DLC is generated. As per a statement issued by the Personnel Ministry, the technology, which was launched in November 2021, has reduced the dependence of pensioners on external biometric devices and made the process more accessible and affordable to masses by leveraging smartphone-based technology.
Super senior pensioners have time from October 1 to November 30, 2023 to submit life certificate. Senior citizens between the ages of 60 and 80 have time from November 1 to November 30, 2023.
Pensioners can create and submit the digital life certificate using a software program and a safe biometric authentication mechanism using Aadhaar card.
