Government of India asks social media firms to confirm and share their responses 'ASAP and preferably today itself' on status of their compliance with new IT digital rules. Social media companies were earlier given a three-month deadline to comply with the rules that were issued on February 25.
Along with the compliance status on the new rules, the ministry has also sought the details of the chief compliance officer, nodal contact person, resident grievance officer, including their respective contact details and physical contact address in India.
KOLKATA: Fears of social media platforms being switched off for not complying with the new Indian IT rules applicable to them from today (26 May) proved unfounded.
